Since their official inception in 2022, Columbus Ohio-based indie band smallboats has no doubt blazed a trail in the three short years they've been active. A central goal for the duo, who officially met for the first time at a gas station, has always been to elevate the live concert experience for every crowd, and they have quite a few aces up their sleeves to do so.
"we feel like there is a surprising lack of emerging bands in the 2020s," stated front-man Zander Carter. "25 years ago, there were so many bands in so many diverging genres that every single person can name at least a handful of strongly-influential groups from that time frame. As time has passed it feels like the bands that we look up to all got their start a decade or more ago."
The promise of smallboats is this: you will certainly leave their show wishing you could see it all again. The band just has that effect on a stage; whether it's the bouncy, ecstatic energy of drummer Allison Stabile or the fervent and empowering presence of front-man Zander Carter that has made clubs across their hometown of Columbus feel like arenas.

And they're only getting started.
